Southampton have completed the signing of Leicester City winger Dany N’Guessan until the end of the 2010/11 season.
The 23-year-old Frenchman spent time on loan with Championship outfit Scunthorpe earlier this season and is eligible to play in the FA Cup fourth round tie with Manchester United on Saturday.
N’Guessan initially began his career with Auxerre in his homeland before moving to Glasgow Rangers in 2005.
The winger failed to make an impact at Ibrox and was farmed out on loan to Boston United, before subsequently signing a permanent deal with Lincoln.
After impressing during his three years at Sincil Bank, N’Guessan joined the Foxes in 2009 and has since spent a loan spell with Nigel Adkins’ former side.
For a better view on N’Guessan I spoke to a Lincoln-supporting football journalist, who said: “Dany an is a great player, but equally brilliant and frustrating at the same time.
“A wing wizard with a brilliant touch one minute, completely bamboozling defenders, then the next minute he’ll stand on the ball and fall over or mis-control it for a throw-in.
“Hence that is why he is now back in League One as opposed to the Championship or Premier League.”
